The Albertina, one of the world’s greatest collections of prints and drawings, is a town palace with beautiful interiors of the 1820s – contemporary, therefore, with Schubert’s Winterreise (‘Winter Journey’). The searingly tragic setting of poems by Wilhelm Müller is one of the pinnacles of western music.
