Our first introduction to James MacMillan is here with a short, static and serene meditation on the wood of the Cross. This will be a wonderfully colourful programme with a great deal of plucking from both guitar and harpsichord in the second half, and Boccherini’s fantastic Quintet. Probably a unique opportunity to hear Nicholas Daniel play the castanets!

Pre-concert talk 6.45-7.15pm
John Florance chats with Festival Ensemble musicians and James MacMillan. Free to ticket holders.
